Free Drag racing for all! Learn how to drag race or beat your buddies down the strip! Enabling ALL to ride, we welcome everybody to NOT hold back and to push it as hard as possible on the drag strip. Where else will you get to go so fast in Sturgis?

The FREE drag racing will begin on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 12. The Drag Race is open to the public, no admission charge, no registration fees and any and all 2-wheel or 3-wheel vehicles are welcome! See you all there!

Requirements for racing: Helmet, Closed toe shoes, gloves, and jacket
Driven by the motto "Powered by the Industry, Free for the People," our industry partners have stepped up to cover track costs so you can run what ya brung! There is nothing quite like dropping the hammer and seeing what your bike can do, so if youā€™ve never dumped the clutch on a drag strip, this is your sign to try it at least once. Beyond the fun on the track, this event carries a critical mission. Dragstrips are closing down all across the country, and we refuse to let Thunder Road Raceway fade away. Every single dollar raised from the event is being donated directly to the track to help revamp and preserve the facility. While racing and spectating won't cost you a dime, we will have donation boxes set up throughout the venue so the motorcycle community can come together, drop in some support, and keep these gates open and thriving for years to come.
